Services
Recycling Center
Our center at 1230 Morgantown Road in Russellville is open for Logan County residents. Paper, plastic bottles, aluminum cans, old mail, and cardboard are all welcome. Please sort these items in separate bags. It does not accept TVs, wood, furniture, glass, other trash, or out-of-county materials.
Hours are Monday through Friday 8 am to 2:30 pm. After hours or if no one is available, convenient drop-off bins are located outside the north side of our center. We also have periodic electronic recycling days at the Center. Call the waste coordinator for details.
Thank you for thinking about tomorrow and recycling.
Garbage Service
Our area is beautiful; let's keep it that way. Take waste to the Scott Waste Apex Transfer Station at 55 Pleasant View Drive, Auburn, KY. It's just off Highway 73 and Highway 68-80.
It's free for a pickup load on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of every month from 8 am to Noon. They will take many items, including electronics. They are also open from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm during the week for a fee. The Transfer Station Phone Number is 270-901-2193.
They do not accept tires, car batteries, Freon-containing items, and hazardous chemicals. If you have tires, please call the waste coordinator for details on what to do with them.
In Logan County, Scott Waste is the Garbage Provider. With their service, every 3rd week is recycling. To contact them about service, call 270-783-4016.
Trash for Cash
There is plenty of litter to be cleaned up in scenic Logan County. If you are with a non-profit group (charity, school, church, etc.), you can make a difference. We invite you to pick up litter on Logan County roads in our Trash for Cash program. The rate is $100 for every mile of trash picked up, up to 5 miles, and $500. Supplies such as gloves, bags, vests, and safety signs will be given for the effort.
If that extra cash could be useful or if questions, contact the solid waste department.
